I was asked to photograph the Oyster Bay Cove "Carriage House" project by the Long Island, New York firm Joe Bello Architects. The interior designer is Blake and Dane. I had been watching the progress of the conversion from a carriage house to a home on Instagram stories. I had hoped to get the opportunity to photograph it. The opportunity came on my birthday.
The historic structure was originally the carriage house from the "Ontare Estate" and was designed by Carrere and Hastings. The interior had warm light perfect for interior photography and it's farm house design gave you a feeling of instant warmth. The project wound up winning an AIA Long Island award.
